Kelechi Emeh

Kelechi Emeh has over 20 years’ experience in international development, strategic planning, programs and operations management. His programmatic experience spans peacebuilding, gender justice, health, WASH, accountable governance, resilience, youth and women entrepreneurship and climate Action.

Over the course of his career, Kelechi has held leadership and program management roles with organizations including Safer World Foundation, Catholic Agency for Overseas Development, Equatoria Women Association, Action Africa Help International, and the Institute for the Promotion of Civil Society. He has worked across Nigeria and in other countries, including Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, and Switzerland, supporting programs and teams in diverse contexts.

He holds a Master’s in Peace and Conflict Transformation from the University of Basel, Switzerland. His commitment to peacebuilding and service to communities has also been recognized through several national and international awards, including the 2024 Recognition Award from the Women Interfaith Council for his efforts to promote peace and freedom of religion or belief among communities in Kaduna State; a 2025 Certificate of Appreciation from the Rotary Club of Gwarinpa for his contribution to service and humanitarian work; the 2021 Icon of Humanitarian Service Award from the National Association of Northern Nigerian Students for contributions to national development, educational upliftment, youth empowerment, and service to humanity; and the 2010 Academic & Logistics Excellence Award from the World Peace Academy, Switzerland, recognizing his contributions to the promotion of peaceful coexistence and cycle messaging.

He brings particularly strong experience in working with local partners, strengthening organizational and program capacity, managing programs and grants, building strategic partnerships, and supporting initiatives that promote inclusion, and community resilience. His work reflects a strong commitment to strengthening communities, promoting peaceful coexistence, and supporting sustainable development through collaborative and locally grounded approaches.

Outside of work, Kelechi enjoys traveling and sightseeing, watching elephants, and playing soccer. He also maintains a rabbit farm and is a proud pet owner to Toksy the cat and Jimmy the dog.
