Pakistan
Our Work
MiracleFeet started its program in Pakistan in October 2022 to bridge the technical and financial gaps to ensure quality clubfoot treatment to all patients across the KP province. MiracleFeet’s support ensures that clinics have adequate treatment supplies including braces, and ensure providers receive quality training in the Ponseti method, community mobilization, advocacy strategies, and early detection and referral pathways. Before MiracleFeet’s involvement, the clubfoot clinic was struggling with material supplies, specially foot abduction brace, and effective management of data for better monitoring and evaluations of the program.
Our Partners
MiracleFeet has two partners in Pakistan: Paraplegic Center Peshawar (PCP) and Association for Social Development (ASD).
PCP is an autonomous body working under the umbrella of the Department of Health in Pakistan. They provide clubfoot care at no charge to families. PCP hosted their first clubfoot clinic in 2018, and by the end of 2022 had enrolled and treated more than 2,000 children with clubfoot. In March of 2023, PCP signed partnership agreements with three additional hospitals to extend the scope of clubfoot services in Pakistan. PCP aims to treat more than 500 children this year.
ASD is a not-for-profit (FBR certified), non-government health systems research, development and implementation support organization based in Islamabad, with provincial and regional offices in Pakistan. The Association is a non-political registered professional organization, established in 1995. The Association works in partnership with the national institutions and disease control programs as well as international teaching and research institutions and development partners. The performance of the Association, during the first fifteen years of its working, was internationally recognized by awarding the “Karel Styblo Prize 2010.”
In the coming years, in cooperation with our partners, MiracleFeet plans to increase support to other provinces to ensure that every child in Pakistan has access to free quality clubfoot treatment.
