Our Work

MiracleFeet’s goal to open a clubfoot program in Chad was made possible in 2023 with the help of a grant award from GiveWell. Our work began with a preliminary baseline study to assess existing access to clubfoot treatment which provided us useful insight into the potential future impact of our program. We then partnered with Maison Notre Dame de la Paix (MNDP) to support three clubfoot clinics – two in the capital city of N’Djamena and one in Moundou, where MNDP is based.

As a politically challenged nation and one of the least developed countries in Africa, there are not enough highly qualified service providers in Chad to meet the needs. With a strong focus on permanent knowledge transfer and long-term sustainability, MiracleFeet is the lead organization working to introduce the Ponseti method to service providers through training and capacity building. Following clinical training, MiracleFeet’s focus will be to identify clubfoot patients early (ideally at birth) and ensuring they enroll in and complete treatment.

Our Partner

In January 2024, MiracleFeet started a partnership with a faith-based organization Le Centre Maison Notre Dame de la Paix. MNDP’s work originally focused on treating polio, but their scope expanded to include assisting patients suffering from a variety of physical disabilities – including clubfoot. The center offers support at all stages of rehabilitation from detection to treatment and even social reinsertion, where patients pursuing an education are hosted and trained to prepare them for post-treatment integration into society. MNDP leads the MiracleFeet program implementation and will soon be joined by other organizations and stakeholders to support a nationwide expansion plan. MNDP will oversee clubfoot treatment and expansion in the southern region of the country.

In July 2024, MiracleFeet partnered with another faith-based organization Secours Catholiques et Developpement (SECADEV) based in the capital city N’Djamena. SECADEV will oversee clubfoot treatment in the northern regions. SECADEV manages four clinics in the north and MNDP manages three clinics in the south.
