Dr. Alaa El Dine Hassan Mahmoud is MiracleFeet’s Senior Program Field Officer for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Dr. Mahmoud brings nearly two decades of senior-level experience in public health across the MENA region and has dedicated his career to strengthening health systems and improving child health outcomes. A medical doctor and epidemiologist by training, he holds a Doctorate in Public Health from Cairo University’s Faculty of Medicine. He has served as Country Director and Country Programs Manager at Pathfinder International in Egypt, where he played a key role in developing regional humanitarian strategies. He also worked as Technical Advisor to the Egyptian Minister of State for Population Affairs, directly supporting the Ministry of Health in integrating and monitoring national health strategies. Dr. Mahmoud has worked with several national and international organizations, including the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Terre des Hommes, Save the Children, and CARE International, across Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Tunisia, Morocco, and Mauritania. He has published multiple peer-reviewed articles, contributing to improvements in program design and clinical practices in reproductive health, child health, and gender-based violence prevention. Based in Cairo with his family, Dr. Mahmoud; also known as Aladdin; enjoys exploring archaeological sites, sketching, learning to play the lute, and hiking.
