About Our Work

There are approximately 15,000 children and adults disabled from neglected clubfoot in Madagascar, with an estimated 1,000 children born with the condition each year. The cost of treatment materials has been identified as a major barrier to long term sustainability and treatment is likely inaccessible for many families with an average income. In 2015, international organization Mercy Ships introduced the Ponseti method of clubfoot treatment at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Toamasina (CHUT). In 2016, MiracleFeet began supporting the clubfoot clinic Mercy Ships helped establish and is pursuing a national program in collaboration with local partner Fondation TELMA.
