Changes in US-funded programs and MiracleFeet’s Commitment to Global Clubfoot Care
U.S.-funded aid programs worldwide are undergoing significant changes. Although we are not funded by USAID, MiracleFeet is closely monitoring this evolving landscape and communicating with our 50 global partners to understand how these shifts impact their work, organization, and wider health system. Despite the challenges, we remain committed to supporting our partners so they can continue providing life-changing clubfoot care.
Uncertainty is not new to us. Since we started nearly 15 years ago, when clubfoot was only a footnote in most global health conversations, MiracleFeet’s team created connections and partnerships and kept pushing for expanded clubfoot care. Our program model and approach have always been to work within national health systems to embed clubfoot treatment into routine newborn care, ensuring sustainability even amid disruption. Our singular mission – of a world where no child lives with the disability caused by untreated clubfoot – has kept us focused, innovative, and primed to scale.
Raising funds for clubfoot treatment in low- and middle-income countries has always been challenging given the many urgent needs worldwide. However, we are fortunate to have such a singular focus on a solvable problem with a proven, cost-effective treatment model.
To our donors: your support makes it possible to reach more children with high-quality clubfoot treatment every year – 110,000 and counting. We are grateful for your belief and trust that together we can realize our mission of a world where children born with clubfoot receive treatment and live lives without disability. You’ve seen us carry out this work cost-effectively and efficiently, using technology, tools, and data to drive our decision-making and ensure the greatest impact on the lives of children around the world.
Our commitment is unwavering – every child deserves the chance to walk, run, and thrive. No matter the obstacles, we will continue to make that a reality – because the strength of our movement comes from the commitment of those who believe in a future where no child is left behind.
