Celebrating Clubfoot Moms Around the World
Mothers: life-givers, caretakers, protectors, multi-tasking masters.
Mothers of little ones born with clubfoot: live-givers, caretakers, protectors who persevere through fear, disappointment, and isolation to give their children hope. These are mothers who have searched for a solution, desperate for answers, knocking on every door until one finally opens. These are mothers who have spent every cent and all their energy on a better future for their child. They’ve learned how to bathe a baby without wetting their casts and rocked their sons and daughters through long nights as they adjust to sleeping in a brace. These are mothers who comfort during weekly casting appointments, support foot and leg stretches, and console before and after tenotomies. When a child born with clubfoot takes their first steps on straight feet, no one’s smile is bigger than their mother’s.

Odell’s Very Own Miracle
After surviving severe health complications, Odell feared she might never have a child. So when she gave birth to her daughter in the back of an ambulance on the way to the hospital, she knew instantly what her name would be: Miracle.
That joy was soon eclipsed when Odell learned that Miracle was born with clubfoot. Devastated, she then faced another painful blow—Miracle’s father left the family because of her disability, leaving Odell to navigate parenthood alone.
Fortunately, the encouragement of friends and relatives gave her the strength to move forward. Odell’s sister began searching for treatment options, and within weeks, Miracle was enrolled in care, fittingly, at a MiracleFeet clinic. “From that day until now,” Odell says, “my aunts, siblings, and uncles have been helping with my daughter’s wellbeing.”
Today, the smiles shared by Odell and Miracle reflect a bond strengthened by love and resilience. Miracle’s healthy feet tell a story of their own—a testament to the generosity of donors, the dedication of MiracleFeet, and the commitment of partners working to ensure children receive the care they need. Odell cherishes watching her daughter grow free from disability and dreams of a bright future for Miracle starting with a good education.
“I want to tell parents whose children are born with clubfoot not to abandon them,” Odell says. “It is not a permanent condition.”

They should have hope and believe that it can be treated.”
Happy Mother’s Day
This Mother’s Day, we celebrate Odell and clubfoot mothers around the world who lead with love and perseverance. But even more important than celebration, these mothers deserve support: a clinic closer to their homes, more doctors and midwives trained in clubfoot detection, free clinic visits, and readily available treatment.
Your support today ensures that mothers like Odell can find treatment for their children and hope for the future. Your donation means it’s no longer a question of if, but when.
