Smith Afanji is MiracleFeet’s Program Manager for West and Central Africa, based in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

Smith leads development and implementation of national-driven programs to ensure timely and equitable treatment of clubfoot in the region. He is an experienced program implementation specialist with a wealth of expertise in developing and implementing culturally appropriate systems and solutions for impact in public health settings. What sets Smith apart is his ability to work closely with major stakeholders in governments, state authorities, communities, program participants, and donor representatives in designing and implementing various initiatives. He has a track record of fostering sustainability efforts and is experienced in program management, project governance, and regional portfolio management. He is well-equipped to coordinate multiple multicultural teams in both stable and fragile environments and he is committed to supporting programs that integrate the principle of “leave no one behind.”

Smith holds a Master’s degree in international public health and applied epidemiology, a Bachelor’s degree in sociology and anthropology, a diploma in water hygiene and sanitation, and a certification in project management for development.
