About our work

MiracleFeet began developing relationships with public health providers and orthopedic surgeons in Ecuador in 2011. By 2013, thanks to generous support from the Ronald McDonald House Charities, MiracleFeet launched a program to increase access to clubfoot care for Ecuadorian children. MiracleFeet now partners with public hospitals as well as other nonprofit organizations and foundations focused on disability. The Fundación Hermano Miguel currently provides coordination and fiscal sponsorship, and manufactures and distributes braces. MiracleFeet also collaborates with Ponseti International Association (PIA) Ecuador leaders, Globus Relief, Project Perfect World, and the Ecuador Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology.

These strategic alliances with local government institutions have helped increase early detection and referral of clubfoot cases. Additionally, by organizing trainings and inviting medical professional from different regions to share their expertise, the program has increased awareness and created opportunities for expansion that will eventually allow families in remote areas to access treatment within their communities.
